about the press

After Nostalgia Press is a full-service letterpress printing and bookbindery studio that marries vintage craftsmanship with modern design. Our customizable, hand-printed products include wedding and special-occasion invitations, ketubahs, guest books, programs, announcements, and business and personal stationery, as well as a line of greeting cards, notebooks, and other paper goods.

Whether we’re collaborating with an engaged couple planning their wedding in Australia or a cashmere company working with local weavers in Nepal, we help clients all over the globe communicate their unique story experientially through tactile paper goods. Our Los Angeles-based studio is unique in creating a bespoke experience that isn’t pretentious, and that is responsive to a range of clients and budgets, from couples on a DIY wedding budget to luxury brands. Using interviews and clients’ personal source material as inspiration, we curate a palpable visual experience of paper keepsakes that endure through time. Together, we arrive at a design that tells each client’s narrative through tangible, printed artifacts.

Based in Los Angeles since 2009, the press was founded by printer/proprietor Elysa Voshell in 2003, when she was studying letterpress, screenprinting, bookbinding, and conceptual book design at the University of the Arts London. Elysa's artist’s books have been featured in 500 Artists Books, Volumes 1 & 2  and the Lark Studio Series: Handmade Books, and are held in over two dozen international museum and university collections including the Getty Research Institute and the Tate Britain.
