After months of searching for a new studio space I could fit a Vandercook press into, I have finally secured a space and can move forward with the press purchase. So I flew out to Colorado this weekend to meet Leila, the current owner of the press I'm buying, and make sure everything with the press is in good working order. My friends Tonya and Derrick, who live in a nearby town, drove up with me to the Rockies for a hike on a particularly freezing January day (negative four degrees!), and then over to Leila's place in Evergreen to see the press. Leila had a little space heater going to warm up the rollers enough to get the ink moving, and I pulled some prints and poked around. She's beautiful! Can't wait to get her into warmer climes!
